上海音乐出版社
上海音乐出版社是我国重要的专业音乐出版机构,拥有一支总体素质较高、整体实力较强的编辑队伍。该社的编辑人员大多数毕业于国内著名的音乐院校,他们以编辑家的敏锐眼光审视各种选题,进行科学的判断,出版了一大批深受海内外读者欢迎的图书和乐谱。据不完全统计,自上海音乐出版社创办至今,已出版各类音乐图书和教材1亿多册。
上海是中国近现代音乐发展的摇篮,也是我国音乐出版的发祥地。早在20世纪初,上海就开始出版早期的音乐书刊和乐谱。1953年,由上海万叶书店、教育书店等三家私营出版机构合并,组建成立了上海新音乐出版社。1954年10月,上海新音乐出版社的部分人员抽调北京,组建成立了北京音乐出版社(即现在的人民音乐出版社)。1956秋,经著名音乐家贺绿汀的倡导,上海音乐出版社在原新音乐出版社基础上组建,由作曲家、音乐教育家丁善德任社长兼总编辑,出版家钱君匋任副社长,音乐理论家钱仁康任副总编辑,并在短短两年内出版了200多种有影响的音乐图书。1958年8月,上海音乐出版社与新文艺出版社、文化出版社合并为三位一体的上海文艺出版社。1987年1月,经国家新闻出版署批准,正式恢复上海音乐出版社社牌,作为上海文艺出版社的副牌。从此,读者又重在图书市场上见到了心仪的上音版图书。1997年9月,通过体制改革,上海音乐出版社成为文艺、文化、音乐三社合一的上海文艺出版总社的重要成员。
世纪之交的中国音乐图书市场竞争空前激烈,在全国560家出版社中,约有三分之一的出版机构均已涉足音乐出版领域。在这种新的形势下,上海文艺出版总社从1998年5月起,开创了在每年春季举办一次全国性音乐图书订货会的先例,2002年起又与湖南文艺出版社举办了音乐图书联合订货会,从而确立了长江中下游地区联手合作的经营发展战略。
为了抓住新世纪的发展机遇,上海音乐出版社以“既富有文化品位,又符合市场需求”为出版方针,以“优化选题结构,提高竞争能力”为发展目标,立足上海,服务全国 ,接轨世界,扬“海派”出版之优势,汇世界音乐之精华,使选题结构日趋优化,图书质量不断提高,为不断满足人民群众日益增长的音乐文化需求、弘扬中外优秀音乐文化做出了积极努力。截止2003年底,上海音乐出版社已经成为拥有各类初重版图书700余种、销售码洋近5000万元、客户网络遍及全国、市场占有率全国领先、领导中国音乐图书市场消费主流的、最具有活力的专业音乐出版机构。
上海文艺音像出版社成立于2001年,由原来的音像部改建而成。近年来,上海音乐出版社与上海文艺音像出版社紧密合作,根据国际音乐图书的常规做法,实施了音乐图书与音像制品组合包装的发展战略,以两种正版资源的组合优势拓展了部分音乐图书的空间,使一大批音乐图书实现了与CD或VCD、DVD制品的捆绑销售,为音乐图书从无声变成有声、从平面走向立体做出了积极努力,不但得到了读者的广泛好评,而且也获得了良好的市场绩效。此外,上海文艺音像出版社还进一步加强了教育类、舞蹈类、美术类、影视表演类产品的开发,现已拥有各类CD、CD、DVD产品300余种。
2004年6月,经国家新闻出版总署批准,新的上海文艺出版总社实施了更大规模的扩张,由上海文艺、文化、音乐、文艺音像、人民美术、书画、画报、百家等八家出版社组成的新的上海文艺出版总社成立运行。这是一个以专业出版文化艺术读物见长、具有相当资力和实力的新机构。作为总社成员的上海音乐出版社和上海文艺音像出版社,将不断强化精品意识和责任意识,勇于创新,开拓进取,坚定不移地走专业化、特色化、品牌化的发展道路,为进一步开创中国音乐图书和音像市场的繁荣局面,营造中国音乐出版产业精品迭出、竞争有序的市场环境继续谱写新的篇章。
Shanghai Music Publishing House (SMPH) is an important professional music publishing organization in China. It possesses an all—round editorial staff of higher quality and stronger power. Most of its editorial members graduated from the famous music conservatories and universities and colleges in Shanghai and China. They can make a scientific decision on the varieties of selected subjects with their sharp eyesight as an editor, and they have published a large number of music books and scores deeply welcomed by the readers at home and abroad. According to the incomplete statistics, SMPH has already published more than 100 million copies of music books and teaching material with various subjects since its foundation.
Shanghai is not only a cradle of the development of modern and contemporary music in China but also an original place of music publication in China. Early at the beginning of the 20th century Shanghai began to publish music books, magazines and scores of the earlier period. In 1953 three private publishing organization such as Shanghai Wanye Bookstore and Education Bookstore were emerged into one, and hence organized and founded Shanghai New Music Publishing House. In October of 1954 a part of members of Shanghai New Music Publishing House were transferred to Beijing to organize and found Beijing Music Publishing House, now The People’s Music Publishing House. In autumn of 1956 according to the famous musician He Luting’s proposal, SMPH was established on the foundation of the former New Music Publishing House. Ding Shande, composer and music educator, was appointed as President and concurrently as Editor-in-chief. Qian Juntao, publisher, was appointed as Vice-president while Qian Renkang, music theorist, was appointed as Vice-editor-in-chief. In a short time of two years, more than 200 kinds of influential music books were published. In August of 1958 SMPH was combined with New Literature & Art Publishing House and Culture Publishing House into Shanghai Literature & Art Publishing House, a “three-in-one” publishing house. In January of 1987 the name of SMPH was normally restored after having been approved by the National Press and Publications Administration, which was considered as a sub-name of Shanghai Literature & Art Publishing House. Henceforth, the readers again saw their well-beloved books of SMPH brand in the domestic book market. In September of 1997, after system reformation, SMPH became an important member of Shanghai General Literature & Art Publishing House on the condition of “three-in-one” combination of Literature & Art, Culture and Music Publishing House.
At the end of the century, the competition of music books in the Chinese market is ever cute. Among 560 publishing house of the whole nation, about one third of the publishing organizations have already touched on the field of music publications. In this background, SMPH has begun to hold an annual national Spring Music Books Ordering Fair since May of 1998. It has jointly held Music Books Ordering Fair with Hunan Literature & Art Publishing House since 2002, hence establishing the business strategy of regional cooperation and co-development.
In the new century in order to grasp the developmental chance, SMPH, with the publication policy of “getting the cultural quality and meeting the market needs” and with the developmental aim of “deepening the structural superiority of selected subjects and enhancing the power of competition”, has gradually made the structure of selected subjects more superior, has continuously raised the quality of books to meet the people’s increasing needs for the music culture and has actively striven to enhance the excellent achievements of the domestic and foreign music culture by way of foot-holding in Shanghai, serving the whole country, connecting the world, expanding the superiority of “Shanghai style” publications and extracting the cream of the world music. Up to the end of 2003 SMPH has published more than 700 kinds of music books with a variety of subjects and obtained a whole selling price of about 50 million yuan. Its customer network is popular in the nation and its market-occupying rate ranks first in China. It has already become a most active professional music publishing organization in China, leading the mainstream of consumption of the Chinese music book market.
Shanghai A&V Literature and Art Publishing House (SAVLAPH) was established in 2001 on the foundation of remoulding the Audio & Video Department. Recent years SAVLAPH has actively and closely cooperated with SMPH, according to the international customary doings for music books, has executed the developmental strategy of combined package for music books and audio & video products and has realized the combined selling of a large number of CD, VCD or DVD products with music books, and has striven every effort to make music books become a sound medium from a soundless medium, and from a plane medium to a stereo medium through the stereo strategy of development and by way of exerting the package measures of combining audio & video products with music books. Now the sound music books possess the combined superiority of two positive edition resources so as to enlarge the space of a part of music books, they are not only widely and well praised by the readers but also have obtained a good market result. SAVLAPH has further intensified the development of products of education, dance, fine art, film & TV performance. Now it has produced more than 300 kinds of CD, VCD and DVD products with different subjects.
In June of 2004, after being approved by The National Press and Publications Administration, the new Shanghai General Literature & Art Publishing House consisting of 8 publishing houses such as Shanghai Literature & Art Publishing House, Shanghai Culture Publishing House, Shanghai Music Publishing House, Shanghai A&V Literature and Art Publishing House, Shanghai People’s Fine Are Publishing House, Shanghai Painting and Calligraphy Publishing House, Shanghai Pictorial Publishing House and Shanghai Baijia Publishing House was founded and put into operation. This is a new organization specialized in publishing culture and art books, and having good qualifications and power. The new Shanghai General Literature & Art Publishing House walked onto an ever growing and expanding way toward a sharp aim of combining literature, culture, music and fine art into one. As a member of the General Publishing House, SMPHA and SAVLAPH will continuously intensify the idea of hardship and responsibility; dare to create, to develop and to make progress. They will resolutely march onto a way of development of professionalism, specificity and famous brands. They will further create a prosperous situation for the market of music books and audio & video products in China. They will also compose a new piece of movement for an excellent market environment in which a great deal of fine works will be created by China’s music publication industry, and a market for competition in good order will be formed.
